Funeral Cost Components

As funeral professionals, we will explain the available choices, which will determine the final cost.  We will also provide a full estimate before the funeral but remember you are in control of the costs and we recognise that a funeral might put unexpected financial demands on families.

It is best to discuss any cost limitations or expectations with us upfront, so that we can tailor the funeral to your budget.

Simplicity Funerals have a number of funeral plans but also have a Family Flexible plan therefore we can sit down and discuss what services you would like to engage us for and also how we can assist you to create the farewell that you would like for yourself or your loved one, whilst staying within your budget.

There are several components that make up the final costs of a funeral invoice, so let us explain what these may be:

PROFESSIONAL FEES

These fees cover caring for your loved one, taking care of legal documents, liaising with clergy, the cemetery and/or crematorium, placing newspaper notices and directing the funeral ceremony, etc.

FACILITIES AND EQUIPMENT

This is the cost of hiring venues and equipment for the funeral (as well as use of facilities involved with caring for your loved one).

TRANSPORT

This includes transfer of your loved one from the place of death into our care and use of the hearse on the day of the funeral.

CASKET

Caskets come in a wide variety of styles and price points.  We have brochures available with our full range of caskets.

FUNERAL CEREMONY

The funeral ceremony may involve costs such as catering, printing, flowers, livestreaming, etc.

BURIAL

This may cover the cost of purchasing a gravesite, if required, and the interment fees (opening and closing of the gravesite) plus maintenance fees if required.

CREMATION

Generally, a cremation costs less than a burial.

MEMORIAL PLAQUES AND HEADSTONES

There are many options for plaques and headstones.  They can be personalised to reflect your loved one.  The cost will depend on the type selected and the material chosen.

FINISHING TOUCHES

If you decide to have any finishing touches, i.e. memorial jewellery, photobook, small keepsake urns, the cost will depend on the choices that you make.
