SMALE Sarah, nee Caughey – Passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Monday November 27, 2023 aged 84 years. Beloved wife of the late David (d. 2017). Dearly loved mother and mother-in-law of Peter and Uiga, Belinda and Mark, Richard and Jenny. Much loved grandmother of Rex, John, Sidney and Mose. Loved sister of David, Pat, John, Helen and Mary. B. 29 September 1939, d. 27 November 2023 after a brief illness.

O there is a blessing in this gentle breeze

Which even as it fans my cheek

Doth seem half conscious of the joy it brings

From the green Fields and yon azure skies

A private cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers donations to the Nelson Tasman Hospice would be appreciated and may be made online via their website, or cash and eftpos will be available at the memorial service, please reference ‘Sarah Smale’.
